More than 30,000 runners participated in the 123rd Marathon this year. A moment of silence was had at 2:49 p.m. to remember the 2013 Boston Marathon Bombing.

This years winner was Lawrence Cherono, and he finished the 26.2-mile race in 2:07:57, just seconds ahead of Lelisa Desisa, who had previously won 2 Boston Marathons.

Worknesh Degefa won the women’s division with a time of 2:23:31.

Daniel Romanchuk, Maryland native, won the men’s wheelchair division and was the first American to win since 1993.
